Download vemry

Free, for macOS, Windows and Linux. Install it, open any folder and start; Markdown notes already in it work as they are.

For this computer

macOS 10.15 or later.

Signed and notarised by Apple: it opens like any other app.

Windows

For this computer

Windows 10 or later. The installer adds the WebView2 runtime if it's missing.

The installer isn't signed yet. If SmartScreen stops it, choose More info, then Run anyway.

Linux

For this computer

A distribution with WebKitGTK 4.1, such as Ubuntu 22.04 or later.

Make the AppImage executable before its first run: chmod +x vemry_*.AppImage.

Every file, with its checksum, is also on GitHub Releases.

Once it's installed

  1. Open a folder. An empty one is fine, and so is one full of Markdown notes.
  2. If you want the AI, paste an API key from any OpenAI-compatible provider, point it at a model on your own machine, or sign in and use vemry hosted credit.
  3. Press ⌥⇧Space in any app and write down the first thing on your mind.
  4. To look around first, open the example vault: a week of one learner's notes.

Updates

Check for Updates in the app menu tells you when a new version is out, and downloading and installing both wait for your go-ahead. You can also come back here and download again at any time.
